Komatsu, a world-renowned construction equipment manufacturer, has recently completed its global smart manufacturing base in Jining, Shandong Province, China. Construction began in January 2024. With a total gross floor area of more than 200,000 square meters, the project was jointly delivered by KAIWEIDE Construction Co., Ltd. and WISKIND Group. It represents a significant step in Komatsu’s efforts to strengthen its global manufacturing and supply capabilities for high-end construction equipment.

China’s 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030) emphasizes the development of a modern industrial system built around advanced manufacturing and the growth of advanced manufacturing clusters. Jining is an important construction machinery manufacturing hub in China, with an industry valued at more than RMB 80 billion and a network of over 200 upstream and downstream enterprises. Centered on the production of complete machines and key components, Komatsu’s global smart manufacturing base is expected to support the further development of the local industrial ecosystem and attract more supporting suppliers to the region.

The successful delivery of an advanced manufacturing facility requires industrial buildings that meet demanding production requirements.
